The 13cm tall by 8cm wide tankard, composed of high quality lead free pewter, features a map of the old course at golf's traditional headquarters and also includes a short passage describing the history of the course which reads; 'The Royal and Ancient Golf Club which was founded in 1754 as the Society of St Andrews Golfers is recognised world wide as the headquarters of golf. The old course was granted to the citizens of St Andrews in 1552 and has remained public course ever since. The present club house was opened in 1854.' The back of the highly polished tankard displays the scorecard for the old course and will surely have the golf loving recipient dreaming of testing themselves at the Royal and Ancient Golf Club whenever they gaze upon their present.
