  • One of the most beautiful and child friendly designs to be found on any of our high class pewter Quaich, the attractive styling of the BG350 makes it a wonderful gift for any occasion and also combines nicely with the high standard of craftsmanship that goes into its manufacture. The Quaich stands at 4.5cm tall and measures 7.5cm from rim to rim, and features a wonderful pewter band around the circumference that is adorned with the text ABC and beautiful images of childrens toys. The fun and attractive nature of the Quaich is then completed by the teddy bear designs on both handles. All of our Quaich come complete with a colour leaflet explaining the history of the Quaich which reads; 'The Highland Quaich. Traditionally the "Quaich" which originated in the Scottish highlands was used both for a "Cup of Welcome" and also when offering a farewell drink. The Quaich was originally made from the primitive "staved" wood, then later from horn or leather, eventually pewter and silver becoming popular as it became the favourite drinking cup throughout Scotland. Being derived from the Gaelic word "cuach" meaning "shallow cup" the distinctive design has remained unchanged over the centuries - a shallow drinking bowl with 2 handles, colloquially known as "lugs". The gorgeous Quaich is supplied complete with its own stylish cream and black presentation box
