Because you can get a tickly cough, sore throat, runny nose, and congestion with both colds and flu, it can be difficult to tell the difference. But the illnesses are actually caused by different viruses and also differ in severity. Both usually last between 1-2 weeks.
A cold causes inflammation of the mucus membrane; symptoms tend to come on slowly, with the infection normally confined to the nose, chest and throat. Flu is more serious and affects the whole body, starting suddenly with a fever, followed by symptoms including shivering, severe headaches and weak or aching muscles.
How Benylin Cold & Flu medicine helps relieve your symptoms
Benylin's new range of Cold & Flu medicines work to soothe the symptoms of cold and flu. There's a decongestant to help reduce swelling and inflammation in the nose and sinuses, helping you to breathe more easily. Plus, there's paracetamol to relieve aching muscles, headaches and sinus pain. Paracetamol also resets the body's internal thermostat, to assist in bringing down a fever. All in all, helping you feel more human again.
