c1914 Harpers Collingwood British Empire Clocke Teapot - CLT9

  • Hand painted crowns and flags to each side and with two sets of twelve Roman numerals to the top depicting the time of day
  • No chips or cracks
  • The cover does not quite perfectly fit the pot and may be from another piece if this was not a manufacturing oversight
  • Reading around the top of the clock is Ye British Empire Clocke, Where The Sun Ever Shines
  • Clearly stamped to the underside of both cover and pot is Harpers Patent No 152417 and in addition to the base of the pot Collingwood Made in England
  • Stands about 5 1/2 inches 14cms high and measures 9 inches 23cms from the tip of the spout to the back of its handle
  • Weighs 600g
  • A superb and interesting Collingwood Harpers Patent teapot tea pot
  • Dimensions: 5.5
  • The cover can then be rotated to show the time in other parts of the British Empire by, for instance, pointing Greenwich at IIII in the afternoon and reading off midnight in Western Australia and V in the morning on the Samoan Islands
  • Some wear to the decoration and gilding
