In 1957, Pierre Gevaert befriended George Ohsawa, founder of the macrobiotic diet.
Back then, very few people bothered to question the food on their plate.
But Pierre was an exception and he made the decision to promote a healthy diet that respects the Yin and Yang concept of balance.
This is because a healthy diet, combined with proper eating habits and a healthy lifestyle, is a major factor in determining your quality of life.
And with that, Lima® brand was born in 1957 and was named after George’s wife, Lima® Ohsawa. One year later, Lima® brand baked its first sourdough breads, and introduced rice cakes, whole-grain cereal flakes, miso and tamari products.
All these products are prepared with care and respect for nature and the environment. Lima® food products are good for people, good for the planet, and a true delight for the taste buds.
