Effective against high heat and washable...BUT...you need large hands to fill the mitt to get a good grip (OK for trays/dishes but NOT for handles). However, if you have large hands + largish forearms, you may find the 'sleeve' width too tight....so, mitts for men but sleeves for ladies...all-in-all a bit of a misfit then.
