This beautifully traditional Kitchen Craft porcelain egg coddler has: a stainless steel lid and rim for making perfect coddled eggs. Coddled eggs are similar to poached eggs, except that the egg is cooked inside the coddler.
Easy to use, simply break the egg into a greased coddler, add seasonings, milk or cream (if desired), and then lock the lid in place and boil until the egg is the desired firmness.

thought I was getting something that you could put more than a small egg in to poach. no room to make an interesting egg dish - more like an egg cup than an egg coddler. An expensive way to poach an egg - better just use a saucepan. Bought for a friend and a great disappointment. pity royal worcester has gone out of business.
