Nicorette Microtab 2mg - 30 Tablets

The Nicorette Microtab is a sublingual (placed under the tongue) tablet, which slowly dissolves in the mouth. This releases nicotine, which helps relieve the withdrawal symptoms that smokers experience when they quit smoking. The Nicorette Microtab contains 2mg nicotine and about half of this is absorbed.

It is a flexible dosage, so you can take a tablet whenever you feel the urge to smoke
or regularly throughout the day.

By varying the dosage the Microtab is suitable for both low dependent smokers
and highly dependent smokers.

The Nicorette Microtab is the first sublingual (dissolves under tongue) NRT tablet, which doubles your chances of quitting smoking successfully over will power alone. When you use the Nicorette Microtab, nicotine is released and absorbed into your body through the lining of your mouth. This nicotine can effectively relieve the withdrawal symptoms some people experience when they give up smoking.

The Microtab is placed under the tongue and allowed to dissolve, which generally takes 20-30 minutes. Each tablet contains 2mg of nicotine, however only 1mg of nicotine is absorbed. The Microtab should not be swallowed, sucked or chewed. You can easily talk while using the Microtab. You can also eat and drink while using the Microtab, however this does increase the possibility of swallowing the Microtab, which will make the tablet ineffective.

There may be some side effects to using the Nicorette Microtab, such as irritation in the mouth and throat. These usually disappear after a short time and are relatively mild. Other side effects reported are dry mouth, coughing, dizziness, headache and nausea, although these may be due to giving up smoking and not due to use of the Microtab.

It is important to always read the product leaflet to determine the dose recommended for you. The Nicorette Microtab is very easy to use, you simply place the tablet under your tongue and allow it to slowly dissolve. Do not swallow, suck or chew the tablet. This generally takes 20-30 minutes.The number of Nicorette Microtabs you use each day depends on how many cigarettes you smoke:

If you smoke less then 20 cigarettes per day, you should use one Microtab every hour, although you may want to increase to two Microtabs every hour if one is not relieving your cravings.

If you smoke 20 or more cigarettes per day, you should use
two Microtabs every hour.

You must not use more than 40 Nicorette Microtabs a day

It is important to use the Nicorette Microtab for long enough in order to break the smoking habit. Use the full dosage for at least 3 months. After this time, gradually reduce the number if Microtabs you use daily until you are using 1-2 Microtabs a day. You can then stop using the Microtabs completely. Only start to reduce the number of Microtabs you use per day when you feel you are ready to do so. The length of time it takes to reduce to 1-2 Microtabs per day will vary from person to person.
