Prostate Formula provides specific vitamins and herbs that promote the health of the prostate gland and the urinary tract. It has been designed to help and protect men with specific prostate problems including prostatitis (acute inflammation) and benign prostatic hypertrophy (BPH), where the gland gradually enlarges over time. Men over the age of 50 years are more predisposed to prostate problems. Prostate Formula contains Saw Palmetto, extensive research has shown this herb to be one of the most effective long-term treatments for BPH.

KELP
Kelp provides a rich natural source of minerals, in particular Iodine, vitamins, amino acids, essential fatty Acids, antioxidants and also contains certain compounds (such as Fuocidin and Carrageenans) that are being investigated for their antiviral and anticancer properties. Iodine is required by the thyroid glands which regulates body metabolism.

SAW PALMETTO
Benign prostatic hypertrophy (BPH) is stated to result from prostrate accumulation of the chemical dihydro-testosterone (DHT). Saw Palmetto has been shown to increase the breakdown and excretion of DHT. Saw Palmetto also functions as a general tonic and a urinary antiseptic.

PUMPKIN SEED POWDER
Pumpkin Seeds are a rich source of essential fatty acids (EFA’s), particularly Linoleic Acid which studies have found can help combat BPH. EFA’s are important as a precursor for prostaglandin production, these hormone-like chemicals have many vital roles in the body including an antiinflammatory action, which may be beneficial for inflammatory conditions like prostatitis.

PARSLEY
This herb has a tonic effect on uterine muscle and is a mild diuretic, helping to increase blood flow in the prostate gland. Decreased blood flow and inflammation of the gland results in pain and difficulty in urination, common symptoms in men with prostate disorders.

CAYENNE
Cayenne contains chemicals with potent antioxidant activity. Antioxidants are important in the fight against cancer. Cayenne promotes blood circulation and is also a source of anti-inflammatory agents, which can help protect against prostatitis.

ZINC
Zinc is essential for boosting the immune system and also promotes antioxidant activity as it is required to make the antioxidant enzyme Superoxide Dismutase (SOD). SOD reduces the rate of cellular damage and revitalizes cells by scavenging the dangerous free radical superoxide. It is also required for maintaining the healthy function of the prostate and reproductive organs. Deficiency of this mineral is linked to enlargement of the prostate and other prostrate disorders.

CHROMIUM
Chromium is essentially involved in glucose metabolism, regulating blood sugar levels and in the synthesis of fats and proteins, helping with tissue growth and energy production.
