Product Description
If your eyes feel tired, sore or gritty - SYSTANE Lubricating Eye Drops are the answer for fast and long lasting relief. SYSTANE has been proven to relieve tired, dry feeling eyes and reduce the irritating feeling that something is in your eye.

When you suffer from dry feeling eyes, you need to be able to replenish the natural tear film that protects the surface of your eyes with an effective lubricating eye drop.

SYSTANE Lubricating Eye Drops have a highly developed formulation that gets to work as soon as the eye drop comes into contact with the eyes. SYSTANE Lubricating Eye Drops contain a unique polymer system which means that, upon contact with your tears, the liquid eye drop turns into a thin protective gel layer. The gel-like barrier stays on the ocular surface longer than conventional eye drops providing fast and long lasting relief.

SYSTANE Lubricating Eye Drops are recommended by ophthalmologists and optometrists.

Dry feeling eyes are the result of inadequate wetting and lubrication of the eye surface. This can be due to a variety of factors that can affect the sufferer to a lesser or greater degree and result in varying severity of tired, dry feeling eyes.

There are many different factors that can contribute to dry feeling eyes:

Dry environment - central heating or air conditioning can increase the evaporation of tears
Weather - windy weather can exacerbate the feeling of tired, irritating eyes
Wearing contact lenses or doing anything that reduces blinking may make your eyes more uncomfortable, such as watching TV or using a computer screen
Ageing - dry feeling eyes are more prevalent in people aged 45+ due to reduced tear production
Hormonal changes - women in particular can become more susceptible to dry feeling eyes when they approach the menopause
Medication - certain prescription and over the counter medicines can lead to a reduction in wetting of the eye surface
Poor diet - supplementing your diet with vitamins and minerals have been shown to help with dry feeling eyes

In the same way that there are many factors that can lead to dry feeling eyes, every sufferer may experience different symptoms of differing severity.

The common symptoms are:

Feeling of dryness
Itchiness or scratchiness
Burning or stinging
Foreign body sensation
Grittiness
Tired eyes
Forced blinking
If you suffer from one or more of the above symptoms, help is at hand - and it is advisable that you visit either your optician or pharmacist and ask for SYSTANE Lubricating Eye Drops. If the symptoms persist it is advisable to visit your GP for further advice.
