| Review |
Propolis is a multifunctional material used by bees in the construction of their hives. The use of Propolis by humans has a long history, predated only by the discovery of honey. However, unlike many other 'natural' remedies, there is a substantive database on the biological activity and safety of Propolis indicating that it has a range of beneficial effects in human health.
The precise composition of raw Propolis varies with the source. In general, it is composed of resins and vegetable balsams, wax, essential and aromatic oils and pollen. The wax and certain organic materials are removed during processing to create a refined Propolis residue which is used in Bee Health Propolis products. The refining process developed by Bee Health is a bespoke operation using a unique plant especially constructed by the technical engineering team and ensures that the critical effective components in Propolis are maintained in their most active state.
