Product Description:
Glucosamine Hydrochloride (the chloride form of N- Acetyl Glucosamine) is the purest form of glucosamine. It is an amino sugar that occurs naturally in the human body, normally formed by the reaction of glucose with the amino acid glutamine.
It forms an important substrate in all connective tissue particularly that lining the intestinal tract and the musculoskeletal system. As we know, these parts can start to give out when subjected to unusual wear and tear, or when our body chemistry is incorrect. Many people think that nutritional and dietary factors playa large part in this.

What do amino sugars do?

The extra-cellular connective tissue matrix is a mesh of microfibres that gives your skin firmness and supports muscles, ligaments, blood vessels and inner organs. Although it is constantly being broken down, it is also constantly being repaired.

A problem arises if the rate of breakdown exceeds the rate of repair. Then skin and other connective tissues, such as cartilage, lose their structure. This shows up as ageing skin, or thinning cartilage - as in osteoarthritis.

To prevent this deterioration you must increase the rate at which the matrix is repaired, and that largely depends at the rate at which your body can produce the amino sugar glucosamine.

The entire human skeleton is renewed every 10 years or so. This means we all need good tissue regeneration rates to keep us healthy.

Glucosamine speeds regeneration. As long as your rate of repair keeps up with the rate of tissues loss your bones and tissues stay healthy.

Can we be short of Glucosamine?

Yes, it would appear so. When there is excess wear, more raw material is needed for repair of the joints and surrounding structures. If body chemistry is unbalanced, it may be that insufficient glucosamine is formed, which limits our ability to re-form and repair wear or damage. Equally as we age the glucosamine synthetase becomes less effective which slows the rate of repair. This is why healing is slower in the elderly.
But you might think if you are not actively growing or recovering from injury the rate of tissue repair does not really matter. But all the tissues of the body are constantly being repaired and recycled.
Amino sugar compounds are constantly being broken down, rebuilt and recycled as cells grow, divide, multiply and die, and the rate of re-building is limited by the speed at which the body can manufacture glucosamine. Rapidly renewing tissues like skin or the lining of the gut, need supplies of amino sugars constantly. Other tissues need extra amino sugars whenever there is extensive damage and re-growth.

This implies that glucosamine supplements should not only help wound healing after injury or surgery but also in the treatment of inflammation. Inflammation is a basic element in many diseases where the rate of tissue damage exceeds the rate of tissue regeneration, as in arthritis.

In these cases, a glucosamine supplement can boost the repair process, tipping the balance away from tissue destruction towards reconstruction and health.

Can we obtain Glucosamine from food?

No, not really. Certainly we cannot obtain it in its free form. Bound forms do occur, in cartilage, but cartilage in meat is called gristle, and most of us try not to eat it.

Benefits and Features .

Glucosamine is a key component of synovial and bursal fluid, connective tissue, ligaments and tendons.
Glucosamine is rich in chondroitins
Glucosamine helps to support the immune system and is a component of some enzymes
Glucosamine is a component of mucous membranes lining the digestive, respiratory and urinary tracts.
Glucosamine encourages the growth of beneficial bacteria in the gut.
Anecdotal reports suggest that glucosamine supplements may help in the treatment of eczema and psoriasis. These skin conditions are characterized by an increased skin cell turnover and possible amino sugar deficiency.
Glucosamine supplements may help to maintain the integrity of the blood vessels.
Research shows that common types of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs are inclined to accelerate cartilage erosion. This constitutes a risk factor. Glucosamine Sulphate, as a nutrient to support one's metabolism, has not generated any safety concerns.

Why Glucosamine Hydrochloride?

A small percentage of the population experience gastro- intestinal problems from prolonged use of glucosamine sulphate. Hence glucosamine hydrochloride is now often the preferred option for those who are likely to take glu- cosamine for long periods of time.
