Cytoplan was founded in 1990. The name means "Support for Cells" (Cyto=cell). The company was created to provide a competitively priced range of vitamins,minerals, herbs and oils for practitioners. Many of the products and formulae were developed in conjunction with a leading naturopath and nutritional therapist to offer nutritional support programmes.
From the beginning Cytoplan offered excellent quality of product, but the products were still only standard isolated chemical supplements.
In 1992 Cytoplan came to life with a chance meeting of its Managing Director with a director from Nature's Own, a company that had introduced the uniquely effective Food State products into Great Britain. The logic and rationale for Food State fulfilled so totally the nutrient and supplement needs of practitioners, that Cytoplan asked to be merged with Nature's Own. The seed of growth was planted and Cytoplan grew rapidly from that moment on.
Cytoplan had grown up around the needs of practitioners and the merger allowed immediate change of most of the vitamins and minerals being sold by the company to Food State formulations and a reduction of the range of isolated chemicals.The Technical Department of Cytoplan was able to show Cytoplan practitioners that Food State products were far better able to support them in their work, as the products naturally supported the workings of the body and did not act as a challenge to the body in the way that isolates often did.
Cytoplan remains the only "Food State" practitioner-dedicated company and much of the new energy will be directed towards the implementation of our Foundation Formula Programme. This programme has been created in response to practitioner requests and offers comprehensive nutritional support to help rebalance the physical person. We believe it can be complementary to many different therapies.

EXCIPIENTS
Whilst we endeavour to use MINIMUM excipients in our products it is still necessary for us to use inert flow agents in some of our formulae - mainly the tablets. The ingredients used are:magnesium stearate and stearic acid and zein is used as a coating. All of these are non-allergic and inert and are only used in micro quantities.
Our powder formulae are generally free from excipients as are many of our encapsulated formulae.
