. Are taking anti- coagulants, (drugs to thin the blood such as warfarin) and you need to take a painkiller on a daily basis over a long period. However you can take occasional doses of Panadol Tablets.

Side effects
Most people taking Panadol Tablets find they cause them no problems. However, occasionally some people may get allergic reactions, such as skin rash.

Dosage and Administration
Note that Panadol Soluble tablets must be dissolved in water before consumption.
Adults including the eldery , children over 12:
Take 2 tablets every 4 hours as required. Do not take more frequently than every 4 hours. Do not take more than 8 tablets in 24 hours.
Children above 6 & 12 :
N.B.Panadol Capsules are not suitable for children under 12 years of age.
Give 1/2 to tablet every 4 hours as required. Do not take more frequently than every 4 hours. No more than 4 tablets should be given in any 24 hours period. Do not give to children for more than 3 days without consulting a doctor.

Composition
Active ingredients : Panadol tablets, capsules and soluble tablets each contain paracetamol 500mg.
Other iongredients :PANADOL TABLETS : Starch, polyvidone, potassium sorbate, purified talc, stearic acid, hydroxypropylmethylcellulose, triacetin, maize, E142.
PANADOL SOLUBLE TABLETS : Sodium bicarbonate, sorbitol powder, sacharin sodium lauryl sulphate, citric acid , sodium carbonate, polyvidone.

Panadol Capsules have a blue cap and a white body with "Panadol " printed in black, and are available in pack of 16 capsules.
Indications for use
Panadol is a mild analgesic and antipyretic, and is recommended for the treatment of most painful and febrile conditions, for example, headache (including migraine), toothache, neuralgia, backache, rheumatic and muscle pains, dysmenorrhoea, sore throat, and for relieving the fever, aches and pains of colds and flu.
It is also suitable for the relief of pain due to non- serious arthritis.
Mode of Action
Paracetamol is an antipyrertic and analgesic.
The mechanism of action is probably similar to that of aspirin and dependent on the inhibition of prostaglandin synthesis. This inhibition appears, however, to be on a selective basis.
