How do Clearblue Pregnancy Tests work?
When you are pregnant, your body produces the pregnancy hormone, human Chorionic Gonadotrophin (hCG). The amount of hCG in your body increases rapidly throughout the first 12 weeks or so of the pregnancy. Although the level of hCG reaches a peak at 7-12 weeks, it stays at a higher than normal level for the rest of the pregnancy and for up to 3 weeks after giving birth. The level of hCG is elevated above normal levels for up to 9 weeks if you have had a miscarriage or a termination.

Dispose of your Clearblue Pregnancy Test with your normal household waste. Special care has been taken to make sure that the Clearblue box is recyclable. Although the test stick is made from plastic, it will not decay unless it is reground.

When you are ready to do your Clearblue Pregnancy Test, open the foil wrapper by tearing along the slit. Remove the test and take off the cap. With the tip pointing downwards hold the Absorbent Sampler in your stream of urine for 5 seconds. Or, you can collect some urine in a clean, dry container and immerse the Absorbent Sampler in the urine for 20 seconds.
A blue line in the End Window shows that the test has worked and is ready to read. This should appear in about 1 minute.
You can now read your result in the Result Window.
You will see a blue '+' in the Result Window if the result is 'Pregnant'.
You will see a blue '–' in the Result Window if the result is 'Not Pregnant'.
How do I know whether my Clearblue Pregnancy Test has worked properly?
In about 1 minute, a blue line will appear in the End Window to show that the test has worked properly and is ready to read. If no blue line appears in the End Window within 10 minutes, then the test has not worked. This may be because too much or too little urine has been used or, the test has not been kept pointing downwards. You should test again, using another test, making sure you follow the instructions carefully. You may wish to collect a sample of your urine in a clean, dry container and immerse just the Absorbent Sampler for 20 seconds only.
