Dunaliella Salina is a single cell oceanic pink algae, which provides a natural source of Beta Carotene and Mixed Carotenoids (Alpha Carotene, Zeaxanthin & Lutein). Synthetic Beta Carotene, found in most supplements, does not appear to possess all the beneficial antioxidant activity that the natural nutrient has, it is therefore very important to supplement with natural Beta Carotene to obtain maximum benefits. Natural Beta Carotene is also a vegetarian source of Vitamin A and is safe for pregnant women, as it is converted to this vitamin in the liver and intestines as and when the body requires it. Vitamin A is essential for a healthy immune system, normal cell reproduction, growth and repair of tissues. It is important for healthy bones, teeth, eyes, hair, skin and maintains the mucous membranes of the respiratory, digestive and urinary tract.
DUNALIELLA SALINA
Dunaliella Salina provides a natural source of Carotenoids. These beneficial plant pigments are fat-soluble and have potent antioxidant activity and a variety of immune stimulating activities.
BETA CAROTENE
Beta Carotene is stored in the fatty tissues of the body and circulates in the blood stream, where it acts as a powerful antioxidant and free radical scavenger. It can only be obtained from plant sources and is a precursor to Vitamin A (Pro-Vitamin A). Vitamin A is stored in the fatty tissues of the body and excess build up of this nutrient can have toxic side effects. Beta Carotene is a safer way to supplement Vitamin A, as it is converted to this Vitamin in the liver and intestines as and when it is required by the body. Beta Carotene also supports immune function and research indicates that it may protect the skin against damage from UV radiation due to excessive exposure to sunlight.
