The inclusion of the beneficial bacteria Lactobacillus Acidophilus in this product helps to keep the gut micro-flora in balance, this has an indirect effect on the health of the urinary tract. Many women commonly suffer from urinary tract infections, this product has been designed to act as preventative against infections as well as to help with the symptoms and to clear the infection once it starts. It is advisable to drink plenty of fluids whilst taking this product, as this helps to flush out toxins from the system and also allows a quick onset of action of the active ingredients.
STANDARDISED CRANBERRY EXTRACT
Cranberry is from North America where it is found growing in bogs. Cranberry acidifies the urine and has been found to contain compounds that prevent the bacteria E.Coli from adhering to cells of the urinary tract, E.Coli infection is most common cause of urinary tract infections. Cranberry is also a good source of Vitamin C which helps to strengthen immune function.
CAPRYLIC ACID
Caprylic acid is an 8-carbon fatty acid with antifungal activity and helps to maintain an optimal level of the friendly micro-flora found in the intestinal tract.
DANDELION
Known principally as a weed, Dandelion has a range of health benefits. Its key action is as a diuretic, helping to flush out toxins and pathogens from the urinary tract. It also helps to detoxify and cleanse the blood and liver.
UVA URSI
Uva Ursi is a diuretic and helps to flush out toxins and pathogens from the urinary tract. It is also a urinary antiseptic and has been shown to contain active ingredients that kill bacteria in the urine, helping to prevent bladder and kidney infections.
BUCHU
This herb has diuretic and urinary antiseptic activity. Certain constituents of Buchu also have antiinflammatory properties and may help to decrease inflammation of the mucous membranes of the urinary tract caused by infections.
LACTOBACILLUS ACIDOPHILUS
L.Acidophilus are a type of beneficial bacteria that are found occurring naturally and in abundance in the intestinal tract and are known to be health-promoting. Lactobacillus have the ability to transform sugar to lactic acid, the formation of this acid is one of the ways that the Lactobacillus bacteria inhibit the growth of pathogens such as E.Coli and candida albicans.
LAPACHO (PAU D’ARCO)
Laboratory tests have shown that the active constituents of Lapacho are very potent antifungal and antibacterial agents. It also thought to have immune stimulating effects.
