Deterioration of vision appears to be almost inevitable as people move towards old age. GINKGO BILOBA
Ginkgo is an antioxidant and exerts a general tonic effect on the vascular system helping to improve circulation, in particular to the extremities. A double-blind clinical trial found that Ginkgo could help people with macular degeneration (an oxidation-related condition causing decreased or lost vision), the leading cause of blindness in older adults.
BILBERRY
Bilberry contains powerful antioxidants called Anthocyanosides. Research has shown that Bilberry is effective in preventing and treating eye conditions such as cataracts and macular degeneration. Anthocyanosides protects and strengthens vascular tissue including that of the eyes.
EYEBRIGHT
This herb is used externally and internally to treat various eye conditions. Taken internally it is helpful for general eye fatigue and vision disturbances.
VITAMIN E
Vitamin E is the oldest recognised biological antioxidant and enhances the activities of other antioxidants such as Selenium and Vitamin C. Vitamin E is also required by the body to maintain normal blood coagulation and for the health of blood vessels and the cardiovascular system.
CITRUS BIOFLAVANOIDS
These plant chemicals have actions very similar to Vitamin C, and are particularly important in maintaining the integrity of blood vessels. They also enhance the body’s absorption and utilisation of Vitamin C.
VITAMIN C
Vitamin C is an essential antioxidant that is required for the production of collagen, immune health and for the maintenance of blood capillaries that supply essential nutrients and oxygen to the eye tissue.
QUERCETIN
Quercetin is a powerful antioxidant bioflavonoid. It has also been found to block an enzyme that leads to accumulation of sorbitol, which has been linked to nerve, eye and kidney damage in those with diabetes.
TAURINE
Taurine levels have been found to be low in diabetics, a group of people who are prone to particular eye problems.
LUTEIN
Lutein is a Carotenoid found concentrated in the central area of the retina, the macular, and protects it from potentially damaging forms of light.
LYCOPENE
Lycopene is a Carotenoid found abundantly in tomatoes. As well as having some Vitamin A activity, this Carotenoid is a powerful antioxidant.
VITAMIN B2
Vitamin B2 is involved in regenerating the antioxidant enzyme Glutathione, one of the main cellular protectors against free radical damage.
GRAPE SEED EXTRACT
Grape seeds provide a very concentrated source of the potent antioxidants Oligomeric Proanthocyanidins (OPC’s). OPC’s help to repair and strengthen connective tissue of the vascular system including that of the eyes.
BETA CAROTENE
Beta Carotene is an antioxidant Carotenoid and a precursor for Vitamin A. This vitamin is essential for good eye health and promotes night vision.
ALPHA LIPOIC ACID
Alpha Lipoic Acid is known as the ‘universal antioxidant’ as it functions in both the fat and water soluble parts of the body.
L-GLUTATHIONE
Glutathione is required to form the antioxidant enzyme, Glutathione Peroxidase, which helps to protect the retinal tissue from free radical oxidation and damage.

Vitamin B3 is involved in the key biochemical pathways of energy metabolism and is vital for the health of all body systems.
VITAMIN A
Vitamin A has a fundamental role to play in the visual system and is essential for the normal growth and repair of cellular tissue, promoting eye health and night vision.
ZINC
Zinc is a component of more than 300 enzymes systems that are responsible for a multitude of metabolic reactions. Zinc deficiency has been linked to certain eye disorders.
COENZYME Q10
Co-enzyme Q10 is an important biochemical, present in most body cells with a role in the process of energy production. Co-enzyme Q10 also functions as a fat soluble antioxidant.
CALCIUM
Calcium is the most abundant mineral in the body and is essential for health of the nervous, cardiovascular, skeletal and muscular systems.
MAGNESIUM
